Before Stormy could interject with a series of giggles and assure Wadjet that she was joking - sort of - she spots her other Charizard in the sky. He's circling and attempting to gain her attention.[break][break]

Stormy offers the dragon a wave before glancing back at Wadjet.[break][break]

"Looks like he's found something."[break][break]

And found something he had! She pushes through the brush slowly, blinking through the dim light to spot an adorable Charmander. The Pokemon is fast asleep with her tail tucked close to her face, illuminating the soft egg-shape.[break][break]

"Oh wow.."[break][break]

Her cheeks flush with affection for a Pokemon she's only just seen, and she immediately steps forward. Wadjet does as well, but the much larger individual spooks the Charmander awake and it stands poised and startled - breathing heavily.[break][break]

The wild Pokemon sprays a smoke screen to cover her tracks, but the Charizard in the sky is keen, following her and eventually cornering her.[break][break]

"Woah now, hey now! Charizard, back off a bit, bud. We're here to make friends, not scare these guys into submission."[break][break]

Her hand rests gently on his shoulder and the dragon steps aside, a look of guilt evident on his face.[break][break]

And then Stormy kneels down to offer a berry to the rattled young Charmander, who takes quite a long time to come around. When she does, however, she keeps one claw poised even when she sits in Stormy's lap, fully prepared to slash should any three of them give her a reason to.[break][break]

The Charmander joins their trio without a hitch, it seems. Stormy is overjoyed and satisfied, bringing herself back up to her full height. The Charizard once again disappears over the treeline in search of more friends, and does not return even when a Shieldon appears.[break][break]

Something catches the young Charmander's attention as she hurriedly trots to keep up with Stormy's much longer legs. Wadjet puffs, glancing over her shoulder in time to see a young Shieldon tumbling out of a nearby bush. It seemed prepared to take Charmander out at the knees.[break][break]

Oblivious to the clumsy incoming threat, the Charmander continues straight along without hearing the Shieldon. It's Wadjet's long tail that swoops in to save the day. It carries the Shieldon away, redirecting the young Pokemon in a different direction.[break][break]

There's a crashing noise, and Stormy curiously looks in the direction it comes, but nothing more comes from the sound.[break][break]

They pass what almost looks like a graveyard. Or maybe a yard full of statuesque soldiers. Regardless, the feeling Stormy gets is eerie and uncomfortable, especially when it feels like the eyes on the golems seem to light up.[break][break]

When she isn't looking, at least. Beacons of light pass over her neck whenever she turns away, and when she makes contact they remain lifeless and dull. Are they following her? Scuffs in the grass indicate movement and the mere thought of it unsettles her.[break][break]

Scooping the Charmander into her arms, she hurriedly makes her way past the soldiers and away.[break][break]

Stormy yawns, but her yawn sounds like a sword being unsheathed. Not too far away, it appears a Honedge had woken. It's single blue eye regards the woman carefully and Stormy watches with the same quiet intrigue.[break][break]

Part of her considers pursing the Pokemon, adding another sword Pokemon to her belt. However, the fondness she feels for her Aegislash stays her hand. As she sets the Charmander down, she'll look up to find the Honedge had moved on.[break][break]

The rhythmic sound of drumming feet catches Stormy's attention, and Wadjet rumbles deep in her throat as she, too, watches a line of unfamiliar Pokemon walk past. [break][break]

They seem disinterested in the trio, and Stormy looks up to the sky in search of her other Charizard. Seeing nothing but open sky, she resumes watching the Falinks make their way past. She tilts her head curiously, but says nothing.[break][break]

A change in the current announces Charizard's return. However, instead of returning with directions or excitement, it appears the beast has returned with a package.[break][break]
Held gingerly in his talons, the Charizard sets down a bedraggled and bruised Charmander. The youngster seemed to have taken quite the beating recently. Several thin cuts cover his soft skin, but he continues to put on a brave face despite his fear.[break][break]

Stormy approaches slowly and the Charmander at her heels clings to her calf curiously. Wadjet rumbles a greeting to her fellow Charizard, but ultimately it is Stormy who intervenes with the agitated youngster.[break][break]

"Looks like you won whatever fight you were in."[break][break]

The soft-spoken words seem to relax the child, and he allows his tense muscles to relax and he only flinches once before realising she means no harm. A thumb brushes one of his smaller cuts, brushing away the dirt and blood.[break][break]

"You'll be alright. We'll teach you how to take back your confidence."[break][break]

Wadjet puffs air from her nostrils, lowering her face to greet the youngling. Scars riddle her skin and scales, a tale of many battles won and lost.[break][break]

It doesn't take much more convincing for the Charmander to crawl into the woman's arms.[break][break]
